Grace to Graces is a faith-based Christian charity and our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by COVID-19 in one way or another.
Sadly we’ve had to postpone all our signature fundraising events until further notice.
This decision will have an impact on the work of the charity because we rely heavily on the funds raised at these events.
With the current pandemic and lockdown, women in abusive relationships are potentially at risk from their perpetrators.
Since the onset of the pandemic, we have been dealing directly with the consequences of Covid-19 and its impact on women experiencing domestic abuse. In June 2020, domestic violence helpline calls were up by 80% in the UK. Furthermore, the first week in July saw a 54% rise in women needing emergency accommodation. We have continued to support women during the various phases of lockdown to receive the help they need – mainly through our counselling helpline and referrals to our partner organisations to obtain legal support.
It has been a very busy time for us at Grace to Graces as we have partnered with Jesus House for All The Nations to support more women in the community and in the church. We have also expanded our Grace to Graces team to enable us to respond more quickly to those in need of urgent help.
One out of three women in the world experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, according to the World Health Organization, making it “the most widespread but among the least reported human rights abuses.” While men experience domestic violence, women make up the majority of victims.
Our priority is to keep our helpline open during this unprecedented season and we can only keep all our vital services running with your support.

We pray a quick end to the pandemic, healing for the sick, comfort for people who have lost loved ones and protection for all vulnerable women and children who are in abusive households,
On behalf of all the women and children you may never meet, Thank you.

We use your donations in the following ways:
- To provide a counselling helpline for victims of abuse
- To provide emergency financial support for victims fleeing from abuse
- To engage churches and other religious or cultural groups to raise awareness of domestic violence and other forms of abuse affecting women
- To raise further funds for the work of charity through fundraising activities and events.
Regular donations allow us to plan ahead with the knowledge that we will have the funds needed to continue our life saving work. Please consider setting up a regular donation to support the charity via a Standing Order.
